GERB SA, the French subsidiary of the German GERB
group has been founded in 1979 in St. Nazaire at the Atlantic
Ocean. At the same time this was the first company established
outside of Germany, mainly with the purpose to participate
in the developing market for the French Nuclear Power Plants.
These days more than 34 staff work in the sales office in Marly le Roi/Paris
as well as the production facility in St. Nazaire. The areas of activities have
widened and include today applications in the industry, in building isolation and
acoustical solutions.
Main areas of activities:
- Own engineering office for design and construction of various types of foundations
- Statical and dynamical calculations, as well as taking care of projects from the initial design to the final erection and acceptance of the foundation.
- Measurements for vibration -, structure-borne noise - and noise control
Building isolation
GERB SA has very successfully supported a large number
of well-known buildings in France on spring elements:
- Hotel SHERATON at ROISSY Charles de Gaulle International Airport, 25.000 t
- Le Corum, Concert hall of the Opera Montpellier, 23.000 t
- Passage du Havre, apartment- and office building in Paris, 34.000 t
Floating Floor
In 1991 GERB SA has been granted a patent for spring
supported Floating Floors, using PF elements. Up till today
more than 90 projects with more than 15,000 PF spring elements
have been completed. These Floating Floors are applied especially
in cinemas and concert halls, some of our references are:
- Casa Fouquet's, Discotheque in Paris, active isolation
with 218 spring elements
- HILTON Hotel, Lyon, active isolation with more than 500
spring elements
as well as:
- European Parliament in Strasbourg, passive isolation of
the heating rooms, several kitchen and technical service
rooms on more than 400 spring elements
Vibration Isolation of machinery and equipment
- elastic support of turbines, emergency diesel gensets and boiler feed pumps in the French Nuclear Power Plants of EDF ST.Laurent, Paluel, Chinon, Flamanville, Belleville, Golfech, Chooz and Civaux
- direct spring support of forging hammers at Forges de Bologne, Atelier des Janves, Stevenin Nollevaux
- direct spring support of presses at SETFORGE, Forges de Trie-Château, SNECMA, ALSTOM
